Maternity Coalition is a national umbrella organisation committed to the advancement of best-practice maternity care for all Australian women and their families.

The Maternity Coalition Inc. (MC) is a national non-profit, non-political and non-sectarian consumer advocacy organisation. MC acts as an umbrella organisation to bring together support groups and individuals for effective lobbying, information sharing, networking and support in maternity services.

MC believes in the importance of women uniting their efforts and sharing skills and resources to achieve beneficial changes in the health care system in the interests of improving birthing services.

MC supports consumer and midwife participation at all levels of health policy planning, decision-making and service delivery.

Who belongs to The Maternity Coalition Inc.?

MC brings together activists with a broad spectrum of skills and extensive experience as advocates, educators and researchers in the area of childbirth and women's health.

We have both individual and organisational members including midwives, childbirth educators, mothers and other interested individuals. Maternity Coalition is a national organisation and branches have been established in most states. To find out more about meetings and state activities, see state branches.
